At Gus's we're all about the food. Gus's restaurants are low-key with a southern flare where you will hear soulful classics emitting from the jukebox. Many people call Gus's a "blues-infused southern eatery." At Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken we focus on the chicken. We begin by using quality chicken which is treated to our special preparation techniques before being marinated in our proprietary batter. Once it's properly fried to a crisp golden-brown, we serve it up with a plate full of southern inspired sides and a cold beer or sweet tea. The result? Customers line up at our door before we're even open.

Steak ‘n Shake was founded in February, 1934 in Normal, Illinois. Gus Belt, Steak ‘n Shake’s founder, pioneered the concept of premium burgers and milk shakes. The Steak 'n Shake name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word “steak” stood for STEAKBURGER. The term “shake” stood for hand-dipped MILK SHAKES. Gus was determined to serve his customers the finest burgers and shakes in the business. To prove his point that his burgers were exceptionally prime, he would wheel in a barrel of steaks (including round, sirloin, and T-bones) and grind the meat into burgers right in front of the guests. Hence arose the origin of our famous slogan, “In Sight It Must Be Right.” After 79 years, we are continuing Steak n Shake’s tradition of serving the country’s best, freshest, and tastiest burgers and shakes.

Since we opened our first restaurant in Boardman, OH, in 1964, we’ve been serving quality meats on handcrafted sandwiches. We call this transformation from a cut of meat to a delicious sandwich “Meatcraft™”, and our dedication to Meatcraft™ informs every decision we make. From the sandwiches we serve to our curly fries, shakes and sides, everything we do is in service to the meats. It’s why we get to work every morning at 8 a.m. even though we don't open until 11. Good food takes time to prepare, and we’re happy to put in the time to make your meal great.

Acero is an Italian restaurant located in Maplewood, Missouri. Fittingly, the word Acero means “maple” in Italian. Acero was founded in 2007, and has received acclaim since its inception. Last year, Acero was voted one of the top three Italian restaurants in St. Louis by Sauce Magazine. Zagat gave Acero “Very Good to Excellent” scores across the board. Acero has been featured in many magazines including Bon Appetit. You’ll also have a hard time not salivating when you see pictures and reviews of our famous Egg Raviolo. Ladue News described it well… “a gorgeous egg yolk the color of a Tuscan sunset ensconced in a delicate pasta and resting in a rich sauce.” At Acero, we love serving amazing dishes, and believe that you should be able to relax in a comfortable atmosphere while enjoying authentic Italian cuisine paired with the perfect wine.

St. Louis, MO 63139

(314) 952-6255

Murray's Shaved Ice at 3407 Watson Road has been a St. Louis Hills neighborhood landmark for over half a century. It got its start when Joe Vaccaro and his bride Rose honeymooned in New Orleans and discovered the city's unique style of shaved ice. Inspired, they opened their original stand, Vaccaro's, in 1953. Family members who worked at the stand include recently elected St. Louis 23rd Ward Alderman Joe Vaccaro Jr. In the 1990's, the Vaccaro family prepared to close their shaved ice business and retire. In 1997, longtime customers Rich and Linda Murray purchased the stand, changing the name to Murray's Shaved Ice. Since then, they have added many custom-blended flavors such as Orangarita, Summer Sunset, Chocolate Covered Banana, Murray's Rainbow, Cherry Bomb and a long list of others. Another addition to the business was the first Murray's mobile unit, which was added in 2004. To meet growing demand, Murray's added a second mobile unit. They are very popular among parties, picnics, receptions and day camps all over metro St. Louis during Spring and Summer. Up until 2007, the stand had been in the original buiIding from 1953. The 54 year old building was becoming too much of a hassle, so the Murrays opened a new building on the site. The new stand features two serving windows and a second ice shaving machine to help speed up customer service. In 2009, Murray's introduced its biggest shaved ice treat ever this season: the 32 ounce Murray's Monster! Many people who grew up in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood return several times each summer, often with kids and grandkids, to enjoy the shaved ice of their youth at Murray's Shaved Ice. Stop by and make a new tradition today
