Architecture for Humanity is a nonprofit design services firm founded in 1999. We are building a more sustainable future through the power of professional design. David Bushnell and Richard Parker met while studying for their Bachelor of Architecture degrees at Cornell University, and they have remained close friends ever since. Their post-college career of collaboration was born out of a shared vision that architecture can make the world a better place. They committed to an architecture practice of integrity, one that combined honest materials with harmonious modern design, honoring the roots of each site to create warm, inviting spaces. It is within this balanced philosophy that their ecologically intelligent architecture firm was born. Since its inception, 450 Architects has defied limits, forging an innovative practice of ecologically mindful architecture. Before the term “sustainability” became mainstream, 450 Architects promoted the benefits of earth-preserving practices through advocacy and action. Interstice Architects was founded by architect Andrew Dunbar and landscape architect Zoee Astrachan. After years of working in separate disciplines, the arbitrary distinctions were just too constraining, so Interstice was born as a multidisciplinary firm of architects, landscape architects urban designers and visual artists. Over the past ten years, this critical practice has grown designing public and private spaces on projects of multiple scales, focused on the broadest possible interpretation of the constructed realm. As an integrated practice, IA combines professional services concentrating the experience of these shared disciplines to create a civic minded practice, where all staff are active citizens and advocates for better communities. Vesuvio Cafe is a historic bar in North Beach, San Francisco, California. Located at 255 Columbus Avenue, across an alley from City Lights Bookstore, the building was designed by Italian architect Italo Zanolini and finished in 1916.The bar was founded in 1948 by Henri Lenoir, and was frequented by a number of Beat Generation celebrities including Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, and Neal Cassady, as well as other notable cultural figures such as Dylan Thomas, Bob Dylan, Rodger Jacobs and Francis Ford Coppola. In the 1970s, the bar was sold by Lenoir to Ron Fein, who died in 1985, and is still operated by the Fein family along with Janet Clyde, Christopher Clyde, and manager emeritus Leo Riegler.The common alley shared with City Lights was originally called "Adler" but was renamed "Jack Kerouac Alley" in 1988. The alley was refurbished and converted to pedestrian only in 2007.Vesuvio is open every day of the year, Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m, Saturdays and Sundays 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.

101 California Street is a 48-story office skyscraper completed in 1982 in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. The 183m tower, providing 1250000sqft of office space, is bounded by California, Davis, Front, and Pine Streets near Market Street.DescriptionThe faceted cylindrical tower features a seven-story, glass-enclosed lobby and a granite plaza with flower beds and a fountain. During the holiday season, a platform with many oversized Christmas ornaments is added to the plaza. The building's entrance is very similar to that of 101 Park Avenue in New York City, and was also designed by Philip Johnson and John Burgee in 1982.101 California is equipped with a total of thirty-two elevators, with twenty-two serving the tower; two serving floors 45 through 48; four serving the triangular annex building; two serving the garage; and two for freight. The eight stairwells throughout the building are intended for emergency use only.

Join us aboard exciting all-day excursions into the Gulf of the Farallones National Marine Sanctuary and to the Farallon Islands. We head on our stable catamaran beginning in San Francisco, heading out under the Golden Gate Bridge. we visit Harbor Seals in Diablo Cove and California Sea Lions at Point Bonita then head out to the Farallon Islands on our weekend trips. On arrival at the Islands we find Elephant Seals, California Sea Lions as well as Harbor Seals. Breeding birds of the islands which we may spot include Pigeon Guillemot, Cassin's Auklet, Rhinoceros Auklet, Tufted Puffin Double-Crested Cormorant, Pelagic Cormorant, Brandt's Cormorant, Western Gull, Least Storm-Petrel, Ashy Storm-Petrel, Fork-tailed Storm-Petrel, Black Oystercatcher and the Common Murre.

Pier 41 is a ferry terminal on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The former headquarters of Blue & Gold Fleet, their box offices are now located at Pier 39.The Pier is located east of the Fisherman's Wharf district and to the west of Pier 39. Adam is sophisticated and refined, but he sheds all that before the shows begin. Magic at the Rex will occasionally include a guest magician. But don't take it from us, here's how the San Francisco Chronicle described the earlier show, Absolute Magic: Forget the pyrotechnics, fog machines and cheesy background music - this isn't Caesars Palace. Absolute Magic focuses on the interactive and communal aspects of a magic show rather than the spectacle. Featured are local magicians RJ Owens - whose avuncular charm and offbeat brand of comedy magic will have you somewhere between smirking and outright chortling (depending on your sheepishness) - and Adam Sachs, with his mystifying sleight of hand, which may require reminders to close your mouth. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and there is a two drink minimum. Parking is available at nearby public parking garages including the Sutter/Stockton Garage. USS Pampanito , a, was a United States Navy ship, the third one named for the pompano fish. She completed six war patrols from 1944 to 1945 and served as a Naval Reserve Training ship from 1960 to 1971. She is now a National Historic Landmark, preserved as a memorial and museum ship in the San Francisco Maritime National Park Association located at Fisherman's Wharf.History: 1943–1970Pampanitos keel was laid down by the Portsmouth Navy Yard in Kittery, Maine, on 15 March 1943. She was launched on 12 July 1943, sponsored by Mrs. James Wolfender, and commissioned on 6 November 1943, with Lieutenant Commander Charles B. Jackson, Jr. in command.After shakedown off New London, Connecticut, Pampanito transited the Panama Canal and arrived at Pearl Harbor on 14 February 1944. Her first war patrol, from 15 March to 2 May, was conducted in the southwest approaches to Saipan and Guam. She served on lifeguard duty south of Yap, then scored two torpedo hits on a destroyer before sailing for Midway Island and Pearl Harbor for refit and repairs to a hull badly damaged by depth charges.
