The Chicago Photography Center (CPC) offers a wide range of classes and boot camps for both the digital and film photographer. Our students include true beginners who may not even own a camera when they sit in on their first class, advanced amateurs who are honing their skills to turn their passion into a business, and even pros looking to expand their knowledge and reach. CPC also has a gallery to showcase the work of students and professional photographers, a lecture series, a monthly wine & critique, and a community outreach program.
Often, children's photography is focused on the milestone moments. These times are important and will stay with us forever. The other moments that are equally as beautiful and often forgotten are the everyday, split-second interactions. Your toddler planting a wet one on your dog's nose, your family staying up too late to count one more firefly, lazy pajama days filled with snacking and tee-pee's made of sheets, an overflowing bubble bath or just a walk to the park that takes way too long because it is filled with discoveries of sticks, rocks and questions about trucks. These are the everyday events that fill our life, yet are easily missed with the camera. And that's where we come in. We're always excited to tell your stories, both big and small, however you want them to be told. We're fans of the messy, noisy, joyful pictures that are made in the big or small moments of a family's life. The day we spend shooting will be as memorable as the images we produce. The Throne Room, founded by Mark and Kamila, is more than just a music and performance venue showcasing Chicago’s premier local talent. It’s a labor of love born out of a long-standing family tradition, a love of music, and a classic boy-meets-girl love story. It all began in a rehearsal space in the Galewood neighborhood of Chicago, where Mark, a powerhouse drummer was auditioning to join a new band. Kamila was the tough-chick bass player in search of a good fit to flesh out her band’s rhythm section. Both had been in several groups throughout the years, but this was no run-of-the-mill audition. Oh, no – this musical encounter would become the moment that changed both of their lives forever. Some say it was Kamila’s melodic bass lines that enchanted Mark, others say it was simply her beauty. Either way, the two began dating a few weeks later, fell in love, and in the fall of 2009, they were married. And, as the old adage goes, the rest is history. Mark is the son of Frank and Georgeann, owners of Renaldi’s Pizza (2827 N. Broadway). The family has been a pillar of the Lake View community since the legendary pizza joint opened its doors in 1973. Renaldi’s commitment to providing an honestand valued establishment for all to enjoy speaks volumes about the integrity you’ll experience at The Throne Room. We showcase Chicago's talent by promoting cross cultural exchange, taking Chicago theatre and artists to Europe and bringing European theatre, to the Chicago community. We serve both the English and Russian speaking populations by producing plays in both English and Russian and translating English language plays into Russian and Russian language plays into English. Bluebird Arts will continue to collaborate with Russian arts organizations such as Theatre Volhonka in Ekatirenburg, Russia.
