I have spent the last several years “coming out of my shell,” exploring my potential, and constantly learning how to live a fulfilling life. Through it all I developed a strong desire to see that the positive energy that I continue to discover stretches far beyond me. When each piece of jewelry I create makes its way from my hands to another’s, my personal message is shared: ‘Rugged Grace jewelry is intended to be worn with a greater purpose. Each honestly ‘imperfect’ piece is to be a reminder that we are TRULY beautiful when we learn to affirm, build upon and CELEBRATE our ‘imperfect’ blends of natural beauty and true character. May you discover and radiate the REAL beauty and potential lying within YOU, ‘imperfections’ and all.’” Alyse Lattanzio: Alyse Lattanzio creates work that pertains to the relationship between natural and urban environments and how the two interact and intersect with one another, finding balance and unity. Geometric shapes equate the urban/industrial environments and the angular qualities they possess. While attending California College of the Arts, the original bay bridge became an inspiration with its large scale patterns in repetition striking an accelerated response in her brain. In nature, it is not the qualities found on the surface, but rather the layers found hidden below which spark her interest. Being aware of these two worlds surrounding her and extracting qualities of intrigue, she finds comfort in the overlap between them while being intriguingly charged and provoked by their vast differences. Alyse holds a BFA in Jewelry/Metal Art from the California College of the Arts and has been letting her jewelry expand in quality and technique since 2006.
Lumen Gallery's mission is to promote local art within the community and encourage people to get involved, educated, and excited about supporting art. We want everyone to be a 'conscious shopper'. Buying items produced in your community directly effects our local economy and strengthens us as a whole. We also promote buying innovative designs that promise high function and durability. Being an artist myself I am passionate about informing the public of the importance art plays in our lives. I consider Lumen Gallery a public service and a liaison between community, artists, and designers. Cierra Ryczek
