FilmGate Interactive is a creative conference living at the intersection of storytelling and new technology. We aim to redefine the way we conceive and share our stories, together. We celebrate visual storytellers and supporting industries through screenings, exhibits, creative labs, master classes, immersive art installations, music, and live events. FilmGate Miami is the Miami film collective hosting FilmGate Interactive and monthly events including I’m Not Gonna Move to L.A., Craft Specific Workshops, Special Screenings, Learn Do Share, and StoryCode. FilmGate Interactive is powered by the generous support of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, the Miami Beach Visitors and Convention Authority, and the Miami-Dade County of Cultural Affairs. IFCM CORP d/b/a FilmGate Miami was founded in the summer of 2012. IFCM activated its program with a series of bi-monthly filmmaker events: “I’m Not Gonna Move to LA” a monthly film festival for local films and “Let’s Experiment,” a monthly screening of art house and experimental films followed by audience discussions. Both gained rapid popularity, and warranted mentions in the Miami New Times, Sun Sentinel, NPR, WLRN and various other local blog publications. In the last four years, we have continuously added new programs reflecting our community's needs. In 2013, with a $100,0000 grant from the John S and James L Knight Foundation, IFCM began to plan its most ambitious project to date, an Interactive and Immersive Media Conference, which explores art, science and storytelling in a tech driven age. For the last three years, FilmGate Interactive has welcomed innovative projects and pioneering industry professionals from South Florida and around the world.

Vapor club 11 was founded in 2013 to provide smokers with a revolutionary alternative to traditional tobacco cigarettes. We are setting out to change the human experience of "smoking" and usher in a new era of "vaping". Vapor 11 is transforming the smoking scene into one that is generally better, safer, less expensive, and significantly more pleasant for smokers and nonsmokers alike. No second-hand smoke, harmful tar, bad breath, offensive odor, messy ashes, unsightly tooth stains, ugly burn holes, fussy lighters, or nagging friends. With Vapor Shark, smoking will never be the same again.
It Begins With An Idea I have been working in the fashion industry for over 15 years during which time I learned the importance of teamwork, not only for the sake of the final product but also on a personal level as a creative mind. I have a studio where I work on my personal projects, from designing and making clothes and accessories, to clay sculpting and drawing. Very often I will have friends over at my studio either to work on something together or to do their own project. We found ourselves not only happier, but a lot more creative and productive when we are surrounded by other people full of ideas ready to materialize them . My friend and I have decided that we want to have a bigger version of my studio, so we can host a shared work space for anyone that enjoys “making stuff” or wants to start a small business. We are working on finding the perfect location, and we will design an inspiring, functional, well organized and fun work space.
Joe Blair Garden Supply, a family owned and operated business, was established in 1928. Joe Blair arrived in Miami from Tennessee and opened a feed and fertilizer store on NE 79 street to distribute products to local farms and nurseries. Blair sold the business to Frank Baxter, his first driver, who subsequently transitioned the feed and fertilizer business into a lawn and garden retail location. Frank, with his son Bob Baxter, daughter Betty Lou Shoaf, and son-in-law David Henry Shoaf, grew the business for thirty years until the leadership of the business was passed on to cousins John Baxter and David Lee Shoaf. Under their direction, the business was transformed into a South Florida leader in the outdoor power equipment industry. Today David Lee Shoaf owns and operates the business with the help of three of his children, David Joseph, Jonathan, and Elizabeth.
