A mile and a half meander through the neighborhood which will include: Political Parodies, Parading Pooches, Marching Bands and Belly Dancing. 200 Art & Craft vendors selling original hand crafted items which includes: Stain glass, wind chimes, paintings, photography, ceramics, apparel, home-made foods, home accessories and more! The streets will be filled with the aroma of sizzling fajitas, as families amble the streets enjoying raspas (snow cones) and paletas (popsicles) and Kettle Korn. Food and Beverage booths will be conveniently located throughout the entire neighborhood. Spend the afternoon listening to local and imported bands at four distinct venues. Spread a blanket next to the historic gazebo in King William Park as you enjoy soulful sounds and happy harmonies, listen to lyrical melodies at Pat’s Pub, sit in the shade awhile at Julia’s Veranda, watch in wonder at a variety of ethnic dancers; and experience living history with re-enactors at the 138-year-old Wulff House. Kids Kingdom offers a mix of children’s activities from crafts to basketball games and rides to rock wall climbing in a tree-shaded park setting.

The Roosevelt Library is the first design center in San Antonio to offer both retail and wholesale shopping along with design services and a venue for meetings, educational programs, and social events for the design community. This will be achieved by bringing together a diverse group of partners who support the concept that architecture, art and design are allied and interdependent disciplines. The partners of the Roosevelt Library represent many of the world’s most sought-after manufacturers and artisans. Offerings include hardware, bath and kitchen fixtures, antique furniture and tapestries, fabric and wallpaper, bedding, crystal, custom cabinets, specialty lighting, carpet and rugs, tile, and artwork. The Roosevelt Library, built in 1929 and named after President Theodore Roosevelt, is located south of downtown San Antonio across from Roosevelt Park at the beginning of the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River. The Roosevelt Library has the added benefit of being adjacent to the unique and thriving neighborhoods of King William, Lavaca, and Blue Star, collectively known as Southtown, with galleries, coffeehouses, hipster dive bars, artists’ compounds, crafts ateliers, restaurants, and bistros.

Aerial Horizon, LLC, is San Antonio's only professional aerial performance company and school. We provide aerial and ground entertainment for corporate and private events and offer top level training to anyone with the desire to fly. Aerial Horizon's performers have worked with Cirque du Soleil, SeaWorld, Aerial Dance Chicago, Nimble Arts, and many other prestigious companies. We are innovators of the aerial arts and are known for creating original and unique acts on the ground and in the air. We can create acts for a specific venue, theme, or requested music, or book our existing professional acts that have taken years of training to develop and perfect. If rigging to existing structures is not available, we can provide a freestanding, transportable rig for aerial performances. We have taught college level courses in Aerial Dance at Northwest Vista College, Palo Alto College, and St. Olaf College and taught workshops at the NcNay Art Museum, Texas State University, Trinity University, and countless gymnastics and dance studios across the country. Our company members have collected in San Antonio from different parts of the country to provide a need for the aerial arts in the community here. We produce custom work for Residences, Public Buildings, and Commercial Projects, as well as fill orders for existing designs. All pieces are made by hand, working in Copper, Brass and plated copper sheet. Items may be commissioned, or selected from our inventory and photographs.

The Conjunto Heritage Taller is a community-based organization dedicated to the preservation, instruction and perpetuation of traditional Conjunto music. CHT offers low-cost accordion and bajo sexto classes to the community, and it offers opportunities to its students to participate and perform in several events and festivals throughout the year. CHT students have performed at the Tejano Conjunto Festival, the Texas Folklife Festival, the International Accordion Festival, the King William Parade, and at community National Night Out and other events.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a grassroots organization made up of parents, teachers and others from our school, around the state and throughout the nation, who have an interest in children, families and schools. PTA membership is as diverse as our communities. By joining PTA, a member becomes part of the largest child advocacy organization in the nation, with 6.6 million members, in 26,000 local PTAs located in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and overseas Defense Dept. Hemisfair Park will continue to be an accessible neighborhood park that unifies the city, serves as a community gathering place, and provides an opportunity for citizens to work, live, and play. Hemisfair Park will offer many special places and uses; some active, some quiet. This vision will foster community-wide impact by recognizing the Hemisfair Park area as critical connecting tissue between previously disengaged sectors of the urban core. Capitalizing on the success of HemisFair ’68, the plan’s improvements will encourage economic vitality, pride and a sense of community for generations of San Antonians now and yet to come.

In 2006, Southwest Workers Union began an Eastside sustainability initiative in response to the struggle to defeat further development of fuel storage tanks. An integral part of our local movement for climate justice in San Antonio has been the development of home-grown solutions that are culturally-appropriate and led by those who are most affected by the local causes of climate change (coal fired power plants). While the potential for a vibrant green economy in San Antonio is growing, the grassroots communities have little understanding and education about what ‘green’ means nor how it is beneficial and accessible for low-income families. To date, the SWU complex has acquired over an acre of unused brownfield land. In 2006, we began the process of transformation into a functioning community garden, the first food producing community space in the City. Food, clothing and shelter are the tools we use to share the truth that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important necessity in life. We house families with children and single women. We assist people who are willing to do their part to help themselves. When not working they attend classes and group meetings that focus on their individual and family needs.
