The 7th Annual Homegrown Festival will once again fill vibrant Downtown Dallas with music and art at Main Street Garden Park on Saturday May 14th. Veterans Day 2012 fell on a Sunday. Due to tradition, the Veterans Day Parade would naturally be held on the following Monday. Freedom Road was a project that came from a small hometown in Rhode Island for Army Major Andrew White. Major White had volunteers from American Veterans Restoration & Roofing along with country recording artist Danny Griego performing "Lady Liberty" Wounded Warriors in wheelchairs and with missing limbs assisted in putting down the Red, White and Blue as cameras and news organizations snapped photo after photo for the FRONT PAGE of the Dallas Morning News. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever.
The DSVC hosts a meeting every month from September to May featuring a nationally recognized speaker from the visual design world. Meetings are held at the Angelika Film Center in Mockingbird Station on the first Wednesday of the month. There is a reception in the upstairs lobby beginning at 6pm, followed by our presentation at 7pm. In addition to our monthly meetings, we host numerous other design oriented events including our Working Lunch series, The Dallas Show, charity events such as the DSVC DREAM Drive Golf Tournament as well as various other social engagements.
