St. Louis Community College ("STLCC") is the largest community college district in Missouri and one of the largest in the United States. Supported by the Junior College District of St. Louis City - St. Louis County, it was the first district in the United States to simultaneously construct three campuses through a $47.2 million bond issue approved in 1965, the largest in the history of the nation's community college development at the time. OUR PROGRAMS: Recycling On the Go St. Louis Earth Day’s Recycling On the Go is the region’s first wide-scale event-greening program. Green Dining Alliance A program committed to working with St. Louis restaurants to reduce their environmental impact. By considering all areas of operations, the GDA puts strong emphasis on reducing, recycling and composting restaurant waste as well as sourcing sustainable food, to-go ware and cleaning supplies. St. Louis Earth Day Festival The St. Louis Earth Day Festival is the oldest and largest Earth Day Festival in the Midwest. Attracting 30,000 attendees on average annually, the Festival is a premier destination for the public to learn about a wide-range of environmental issues in an engaging and entertaining setting. Recycling Extravaganza A collection event for hard-to-recycle items made its debut at the 2011 St. Louis Earth Day Festival. All are invited to load up their cars, trucks or bicycle baskets with any (or all) of the items that will be collected by one of a dozen partnering non-profit organizations or recycling companies. St. Louis Earth Day Symposium This important educational and networking event for local governments and planning professionals gives tools for implementing sustainable considerations in new projects throughout the St. Louis area.

MCWHF sponsors several programs throughout Missouri. Our trails program which at this time consists of The Gray Ghost Trail and the U.S. Grant Trail. We also run an affiliate program that is an exciting and innovative approach to the preservation of Civil War Battlefield Sites in the state of Missouri, called American Institute of Battlefield Archaeology.

Safe Families for Children (SFFC) is a national movement of compassion that gives hope to families in crisis. Safe, loving homes are provided where parents may voluntarily have their children cared for while parents seek to restore stability in their lives. Our dedication to family support, stabilization and child abuse prevention is driven by responsibility for the well-being of children in our communities. Founded in 2002, SFFC has partnered with churches, local community agencies and volunteer families, as well as government organizations in more than a dozen states. The SFFC network has provided essential extended-family relationships to nearly 1,000 children and families annually.

FLOURISH St. Louis is based on the collective impact model of social change, which is guided by the notion that no single organization is responsible for any major social problem, nor can any single organization cure it. This initiative will engage a broad group of citizens, community partners, businesses and other areas of our society to make a sustained and long-term decrease in infant mortality. It will increase community understanding of the issue and accelerate change by focusing everyone on a single set of goals that are measured in the same way.

Inspired by R. Crosby Kemper, III, the idea of a free, outdoor Shakespeare festival began in 1997. In 2001 Chairman of the Board Marvin Moskowitz, first Managing Director Lana Pepper and a visionary board of civic leaders produced the first annual free Shakespeare Festival in Forest Park. Since the initial two-week run and first season attendance of 33,000, the Festival has grown to a two-month celebration of the Bard throughout the city with annual attendance over 60,000. Averaging over 3,000 audience members nightly, the Festival has become St. Louis’ premier classical theater and a main cultural attraction for the city. ts. Rick Dildine served as the Festival’s first Executive Director from 2009 – 2014 and oversaw its growth beyond the Park to the schools and streets of St. Louis. In 2014, the Festival entertained its 640,000th patron in Forest Park and 270,000th student. Our legacy is seen in the tens of thousands of patrons and students who have participated in our work. Year-round we are engaging our citizens in the schools, in the streets and in the park. With a commitment to community, conversation and collaboration, our theme of unexpected theatre drives our creative and producing choices. Each season hundreds of supporters come together to produce Shakespeare Festival St. Louis. Unlike other theaters in the region, SFSTL depends almost entirely on the contributions of individuals, foundations, corporations and public institutions for support. We do not follow a traditional model; we believe we are creating the next model. We’re still writing our story. We’re trailblazers; we’re making the path together. Join us!

Mike “Steel” Sennett was the head lacrosse coach of DeSmet Jesuit High School from 1992 through 2007 when he died suddenly of a heart attack on April 28, 2007. The DeSmet lacrosse teams breaks its huddle with a "1-2-3 Count on Me" cheer, first introduced by Sennett as a simple three words that convey his focus on serving others.

Saturday, July 2, through Monday, July 4, the grounds that once hosted the 1904 World’s Fair will welcome back fairgoers to experience three days of memorable fun and entertainment. Keeping with Fair tradition, this year’s event will feature a variety of free family entertainment, live music from nationally-recognized recording artists, and much more. And as always, an unforgettable, world class fireworks show will close out each night of the Fair.
