Established in 1989, Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association (COSEIA) is the award-winning nonprofit association leading Colorado’s solar industry. Our mission is to expand solar markets and to generate jobs and prosperity for the people of Colorado. Together with hundreds of solar business members we work to advance solar policy, remove market barriers, highlight emerging trends, and promote solar outreach & education. As the Colorado chapter of the national Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), COSEIA represents and leads a wide range of solar-related businesses including manufacturers, distributors, dealers, installers, integrators, financiers, utilities, entrepreneurs, educators and others. COSEIA is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors that oversees the organization’s strategic priorities, budget and bylaws. We’re developing a national model for solar innovation and job creation. Colorado has a 30% Renewable Energy Standard and is the #1 state in the nation for solar jobs (per capita). And thanks to COSEIA’s successful efforts to help pass the Fair Permit Act (HB11-1199), Colorado has lowered solar permit fees and reduced the cost of going solar. There are tremendous opportunities in Colorado’s solar marketplace – and as a national leader Colorado often influences what happens in other states. But success in solar doesn’t happen by itself. It starts by joining COSEIA. Your support is urgently needed and greatly appreciated.

Formula SAE is an international student design competition organized by SAE International; a global association of more than 138,000 engineers and technical experts in the aero-space, automotive and commercial vehicle industries. The concept of the competition is that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a design team to build a competitive small Formula-style race car. Teams are judged by their design choices, cost effectiveness, business presentations, and the performance of their car. The car’s performance is judged based on acceleration, autocross, skid pad, and endurance/fuel efficiency races. Student teams spend time designing, manufacturing and testing a prototype based on a certain set of rules to ensure safety but to most importantly, help push the limits of engineering and technology. By being forced to come up with innovative ways to stay competitive while abiding by rule and budget constraints, students are able to apply their theoretical textbook knowledge to get real world results. Since its start in 1978, Formula SAE has evolved into one of the top engineering competitions in the world and it helps to promote careers/excellence in engineering, manufacturing, design, development, management, marketing and finance.
