The Angel Orensanz Center is located at 172 Norfolk Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York. It is housed in a Gothic Revival synagogue, built in 1849 for Congregation Ansche Chesed .It is the oldest surviving synagogue building in New York City, and the fourth-oldest surviving synagogue building in the United States. It was the largest synagogue in the United States at the time of its construction, and is one of the few built in Gothic Revival style.The synagogue was built by Reform Congregation Ansche Chesed, a congregation of primarily German Jews that was the third Jewish congregation in New York City. The building was designed by Eisenach -born architect Alexander Saeltzer. It was sold to Congregation Shaari Rachmim in 1873, to The First Hungarian Congregation Ohab Zedek in 1886, and to congregation Sheveth Achim Anshe Slonim in 1921, which used it until 1974. That year, the synagogue was abandoned, and it was later vandalized.

With a special focus on Norway, our scope is international: We invite a wide range of artists from elsewhere to share their work with the New York City audience and also collaborate with overseas organizations in creating opportunities for our artists abroad. Pierogi was founded in 1994 in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and relocated to the lower east side of Manhattan in 2016. Pierogi features the work of emerging and mid-career artists in an eclectic range of media—from the conceptual drawings of Mark Lombardi to the multi-media works of Jonathan Schipper, and the dynamic large-scale paintings of Yoon Lee, to the panoramic and filmic drawings of Dawn Clements; as well as curated exhibitions such as the award-winning Dead Tree installation (a recreation of the Robert Smithson work originally shown in Dusseldorf’s Kunsthalle, 1969). The BOILER, Pierogi’s satellite exhibition space opened in March 2009, is a more expansive space that allows us to mount large-scale sculpture, painting, and installation exhibitions. It is a former factory boiler room with 35-foot ceilings where we also hold performances, screenings, and other events. The Flat Files, another important element of Pierogi, house portfolios of original works by 750+ artists. The traveling Flat Files have been exhibited in London, Vienna, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and elsewhere. Early in 2009 Pierogi launched a searchable online version of the Flat Files.
Art on A Gallery is located in the heart of the East Village on Avenue A between 2nd and 3rd Streets, which distinguishes it geographically from the many galleries on the Lower East Side below Houston Street. Art on A is a natural off-shoot from our parent company, Wendigo Productions NY, a music production company which has been presenting music shows of various genres in local venues for the last 3 years. True to the values of Wendigo, Art on A Gallery is supporting and showcasing local and emerging artists in all media that have a certain edge to their work. We hope that exposure in our gallery will help them on the road to success, as well as make Art on A a great success!
Rachel Uffner Gallery opened in September 2008 in New York's Lower East Side. The program consists of artists who have been included in significant exhibitions worldwide, many of whom presented their first solo show at the gallery. In addition to its continuous exhibition schedule, the gallery presents organized shows curated in house or by guest curators. Group and two-person programming grounds our interest in supporting the production of vital art practices from a diverse range of international artists. We regularly produce artist catalogues and monographs as a generative means to distribute ideas.

The Museum of the American Gangster is a two-room museum located at 80 St. Mark's Place in the East Village, Manhattan New York City. Opened in 2010, it is located upstairs from a former speakeasy in a neighborhood once frequented by Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, and John Gotti. Its Exhibition of the American Gangster was "founded to preserve newspapers, photographs and other original documents from the Prohibition Era". The museum's collection of memorabilia of organized crime in America includes John Dillinger's death masks, bullets from the Saint Valentine's Day massacre investigation, and a bullet from the shooting of Pretty Boy Floyd. The former speakeasy has a history of its own; the building is the former residence of Walter Scheib. The exhibit is currently open. It is also possible to tour the old speakeasy.July 24, 2010 marked the twentieth anniversary of the release of Goodfellas. This milestone was celebrated with a private screening hosted by Henry Hill for a select group of invitees at the Museum of the American Gangster.
