Once a refrigerated food distribution warehouse, City Winery Chicago has transformed a 1911 building into a haven for those who are passionate about wine, music and culinary arts. Built with re-used material, such as the original wood beams, masonry and brick, this fully functional winery, restaurant and concert venue has become a focal point of West Loop nightlife. City Winery hosts wine making classes, wine dinners and tastings, intimate music concerts, private events and offers shared plates dining. A patio is open during the summer months. City Winery Chicago was honored with a 2013 vision award by the Urban Land Institute Chicago, attributed to a unique design and adaptive re-use of the 33,000 square foot, 100-year old building. Bottom Lounge is a music venue. Bottom Lounge is a restaurant and bar that specializes in American fare, craft beers and small batch whiskey. Bottom Lounge is an event space available for corporate movies, private parties and weddings. Bottom Lounge is a great time. Our restaurant is open Wednesday-Sunday. The restaurant is only open on Mondays and Tuesdays for all confirmed performances in the music room and Blackhawks home games.
The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex located on a natural acropolis on the Iberian Peninsula overlooking the city of Granada in Spain’s Andalusia region. The Alhambra Palace stands out as one of the most famous examples of Moorish architecture, and perhaps it is the most well known Muslim construction of all. The name Alhambra comes from Arabic word which means “Red or crimson castle.” Created originally for military purposes, The Alhambra was an “alcazaba” (fortress), an “alcázar” (place) and a small “medina” (city), all in one. It was the residence of Muslim kings of Granada and their court, and a renaissance palace during the Holy Roman Empire, thereby providing a unique mixture of architectural and decorating styles, marriage of the Mediterranean and Middle East. The greatest concern of the architects of the Alhambra was to cover every single space w/decoration, no matter the size of the space and decorative element was enough. The Moors left their greatest mark in the region of Andalusia. Here you will fi nd a cuisine rich with examples of Arab culinary infl uence. Spices, ingredients, cooking techniques mingled to create a new cuisine. The Moors introduced the cultivation of rice, now a staple food, fi gs and citrus fruits, peaches and bananas and many of the Middle Eastern spices, including cumin, aniseed, and sugar, which are used much in Iberian cooking today. The Marriage of both Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines has developed through time-honored practice, patience, and tradition, passed down from one generation to another. Food is a fundamental part of the regions heritage and culture; the ingredients refl ect their geography of their homeland while savoring the colors and accents of the aesthetic tastes of both the Mediterranean and Middle East. The cuisines are associated with many social events -births, anniversaries, and weddings; the culinary traditions are, intertwined with regions history and religion.

Taste of Randolph converges some of the Windy City’s Best in Food, Music and Festival Fun for one unforgettable weekend to benefit the West Loop Community Organization. Attracting crowds in excess of 100,000 and always a favorite amongst Chicagoans, The Taste of Randolph is located in one of the city’s most famous restaurant rows-the Randolph Street Corridor. Top-rated West Loop neighborhood restaurants come together with talented artisans and eclectic vendors for this three-day, cross-cultural celebration. Artisan and restaurant booths are intermixed along two the aligning rows that adorn six blocks of Randolph Street during the three-day festival. As festival-goers meander along the six-block stretch, they can also explore the various merchants selling goods. Among the many items offered by artisans are handcrafted jewelry pieces, clothing, artwork and a multitude of other fun accessories. Many talented artists have performed at the festival in the past, including My Morning Jacket, Spoon, Drive By Truckers, Here We Go Magic, Califone, John Butler Trio, Delta Spirit and hundreds of others. This festival, produced by Star Events, benefits the West Loop Community Organization, where residents, visitors, and businesses have an active voice in decisions affecting the neighborhood parks, development, schools, traffic, safety, and more. The organization is constantly working to ensure positive growth for the neighborhood, while offering social events and promoting beneficial developments to improve the quality of life in the West Loop. For the first time in the festival’s history, Chicago-based independent jam, indie, and dance music promoters Silver Wrapper have curated all the stages, bringing some of the hottest up-and-coming names in the indie rock world, as well as plenty of established bands and Chicago favorites. Silver Wrapper co-produces North Coast Music Festival, Chicago Bluegrass and Blues Festival, and hundreds of events throughout the year around Chicago. The festival will also feature a dance stage, hosted by The Mid, which was recently voted as the #40 Nightclub in the World from DJ Mag.
Located in Chicago's West Loop and established in 1997, this privately owned and operated ice hockey rink began its commitment with a state-of-the-art facility, one of the finest in the country. The dedicated staff at Johnny's is continuously working to promote core hockey values, sportsmanship, integrity, team work and pure enjoyment of the game. Johnny's is home to 120 adult teams in nine divisions from Elite to beginner. In addition, Johnny's hosts and is founder of the Chicago Jets Youth Hockey Club. We are the home hockey rink for the St. Ignatius and Latin School high school teams as well as the practice rink for the Chicago Blackhawks. Johnny's IceHouse offers a wide variety of clinics and programs for male and female hockey players of all ages and skill levels. We also host a variety of youth & adult hockey tournaments throughout the year, including a 30 team youth Thanksgiving tournament, a 20 team youth Christmas tournament, and a 16 team Adult Memorial Day tournament. CAN/AM also hosts a yearly Adult Tournament on St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Our ice is tirelessly maintained, and our facilities are always kept clean. On February 1st 2010 Johnny's IceHouse West opened its doors at 2550 W. Madison St. The garage, lobby, locker rooms, benches, and bar are all bigger at the West location. We are partnered with Plush Horse Ice Cream out of Palos Park, IL. They are a small independently owned company who has been making handmade ice cream for 75 years. We are privileged to be selling their delicious frozen treats. Sean McGuire, owner, was born and raised in Ireland, in the town of Belmullet, County Mayo.
