Why should students talk to a Peer Mentor? Peer Mentors are LaGuardia students who know the campus, the professors, and the classes. They can relate to their peers’ experience and can help guide them toward achieving their goals. Peers are always in the know about services and resources, and can assist their mentees in times of need. Mentors can motivate their students to achieve personal success and academic excellence while providing their mentees with access to their LaGuardia Community. The role of a Peer Mentor is to help their mentee adjust smoothly to college life and navigate through the network of resources and opportunities available to them at the college. Mentors will inform students about ways to get involved on campus and connect their mentees to academic assistance as well as personal support services.
