The Inspiration: A few years ago, a daydreaming corporate drone attended an after work function hosted by a coworker. Not knowing what to bring to the fiesta, he stopped off at the local Korean market and picked up a couple packages of marinated Korean BBQ (better known as bulgogi). To his utter shock, no sooner had he placed the bulgogi on the grill than an all out scrum broke out for the last piece of meat. Then a light went on in his head--BOIINGGG--Why not offer this relatively unknown gem of a food and deliver in a vehicle that everyone is familiar with (e.g. a tortilla shell)? Thus, the inspiration for this wickedly delicious concept was born, “La Tacorea.” The Concept: La Tacorea is on a mission to bring the mouth-watering flavors of Korean BBQ combined with the bold and zesty sabores of Mexican toppings to the Windy City and beyond. Our carefully crafted menu may be short in number but is undeniably BIG on taste. If you’re in a rush – no problem! Our food is served quickly without sacrificing taste or quality. Clark St. The menu is simple with a culinary flair to separate us from other sandwich restaurants. 98% of the menu is made in house from the fresh baked bread to the wood smoked meats. The items on the menu coincide, so there is as little waste as possible .Our target customers are parents and young adults who want to know what’s going into their food and where it is coming from. Covering the walls of the restaurant is information about the local farms we are using, how the food is grown, and what local establishments are helping us keep the restaurant sustainable. Gyro Mena (Yeer-oh * mena) in Greek means "my gyro". We have combined authentic athenian gyros with an American desire to pick your own toppings and sauces.
