Originally, Disney anticipated holding large-scale events and awards shows at this theater. However, a cost-cutting decision during construction to strip the theater of a lobby or bathrooms within the theater prevented this from taking place. Guests must leave the theater and walk to an adjoining rest room.The venue's first show was Disney's Steps in Time, a musical featuring songs from various Disney films. Later that year, The Power of Blast, a scaled-down version of the musical Blast! was created for the theater. The Power of Blast closed in fall 2002 to make room for Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. Inspired by Disney's 1992 animated film Aladdin, the show premiered in January 2003.In spring 2010 it was initially announced that Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular would close and be replaced by Toy Story: The Musical. However, later that year it announced that the plans were cancelled and that the Aladdin musical would remain for the time being.

This family-friendly exhibition will be located on the Northeastern side of Broadway at the Beach in a building distinguished by a flying saucer bursting from its side. Space Mountain is a space-themed indoor steel roller coaster in Tomorrowland at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. Opened on May 27, 1977, it was the second roller coaster built at Disneyland, and was the second of the five versions of Space Mountain built by The Walt Disney Company. Its exterior façade is one of Disneyland's four "mountain" structures that serve as park landmarks.Walt Disney originally conceived the idea of a space-themed roller coaster for Disneyland following the success of the Matterhorn Bobsleds, which opened in 1959. However, a number of factors including lack of available space, Walt Disney's death, and the Disney company's focus on building what would become Walt Disney World led to the project's postponement in the late 1960s. After the early success of the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World, Disney revived the Space Mountain project and opened the first Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom in 1975. Soon after, Disney began plans to build a smaller version of Space Mountain at Disneyland, and opened Disneyland's Space Mountain in 1977. The Disneyland Resort, commonly known as Disneyland, is an entertainment resort in Anaheim, California. It is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company through its Parks and Resorts division and is home to two theme parks (Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure), three hotels, and a shopping, dining, and entertainment complex known as Downtown Disney.The resort was developed by Walt Disney in the 1950s. Shepherd's Grove is a congregation of the Reformed Church in America in Garden Grove, California, United States. The church was founded by Robert H. Schuller in 1955 as the Garden Grove Community Church and renamed itself to Crystal Cathedral Ministries after its church building the Crystal Cathedral in 1981. The congregation is known worldwide as the producer of the Hour of Power weekly American Christian television program.On October 18, 2010, the board of Crystal Cathedral Ministries filed for bankruptcy in Santa Ana, California. In February 2012, as part of the bankruptcy proceeding, the congregation sold the Crystal Cathedral building to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange. Under the terms of the sale, Crystal Cathedral Ministries leased the building from the diocese until July 2013. The congregation has stated that it will continue its ministry and is searching for a new location; it currently is housed on the former site of St. Callistus Catholic church and school in Garden Grove.OriginsAffiliated with the Reformed Church in America, the Garden Grove Community Church was founded in 1955 by Robert H. Schuller and his wife Arvella. The first church services were held in space rented from the Orange Drive-In Theatre.
The Crystal Cathedral is a church building of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange in Garden Grove, Orange County, California, in the United States. The reflective glass building, designed by postmodern American architect Philip Johnson, was completed in 1980 and seats 2,736 people. The largest glass building in the world, it has one of the largest musical instruments in the world, the Hazel Wright Memorial organ.Until 2013, the building had been the principal place of worship for Crystal Cathedral Ministries, a congregation of the Reformed Church in America, founded in 1955 by Robert H. Schuller. Crystal Cathedral Ministries filed for bankruptcy in October 2010 and in February 2012 sold the building and its adjacent campus to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Orange for use as the diocese's new cathedral. The building, especially the interior, is currently being renovated to accommodate the Roman Catholic liturgy and is due to re-open in 2017, at which time it is expected to be consecrated and formally renamed Christ Cathedral and become the seat of the Diocese of Orange.
