Dr. Charles Portwood is a chiropractic physician and a retired Missouri legislator. He is a 1991 graduate of Logan College of Chiropractic and served as a Missouri State Representative from 2000-2008. Dr. Portwood was named Chiropractor of the year in 2001 and Outstanding Legislator of the year by the Missouri State Chiropractors Association in 2006 and 2008. He was recognized as the Logan College of Chiropractic Alumnus of the year, the American Cancer Society's Statesman of the year and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Committed Statesman in 2003. The National Association of social Workers named him Legislator of the year in 2004. Parquad of St. Louis recognized Dr. Portwood as Legislator of the year in 2007 for his legislation that allowed individuals who are disabled to earn their health care coverage in Missouri. He is respected for promoting responsible health care change for Missourians and passed reforms to improve our health care system for everyone.
