Since 1972, The World Famous Comedy Store has been home to the biggest names in comedy. As the club's historian/archivist, and house pianist, host Jeff Scott, has collected the biggest online archive of photos, behind the scenes moments, and memorabilia.
This is not your typical comedy show -- it is a stand-up show, in that it's a comedian and a microphone...but it's also an improv show, in that the comics take suggestions from the audience on what to talk about. This is the rare opportunity where the audience gets to decide the subject matter; nothing is off-limits and the comics are completely raw and uncensored. Due to the on-the-fly nature of the show, there is a very strict no-recording policy. The show runs about an hour and fifteen minutes, with 9-10 comics getting approximately five minutes each. **Line-Up subject to change without notice (but we hope not).
Hacienda Arms Apartments, also known as Coronet Apartments and Piazza del Sol, is a historic building located on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, California. The four-story, 52,000-square-foot Italian Renaissance Revival sourced Mediterranean Revival style structure was built in 1927 and operated initially as a luxury apartment building catering to the entertainment business. In the 1930s, it became the \"most famous brothel in California.\" The building declined in prestige in the 1950s and 1960 and was acquired by rock star Rod Stewart in the 1970s. After Stewart's plans to redevelop the building as a luxury hotel ended in a legal dispute, the building was nearly destroyed in a 1983 fire that was found to be of suspicious origin. Since 1986, it has been known as the Piazza del Sol, and it now houses the offices of several production companies, including Miramax Films. The restaurant Katana, co-owned by Ryan Seacrest and Tori Spelling and described by Newsweek as \"so hip it hurts,\" also operates at the building.
The Andaz West Hollywood is a 239-room Hyatt hotel located at 8401 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, California. The hotel opened in 1963 as the Gene Autry Hotel. Sold in 1967, it was renamed the Continental Hyatt House. In 1976 it became the Hyatt on Sunset until February 1997 when the hotel was renamed the Hyatt West Hollywood. In January 2009 the hotel was renovated and renamed the Andaz West Hollywood. In the late 1960s and 1970s the hotel proximity to popular clubs such as the Whisky a Go Go made it the preferred Los Angeles accommodation for touring rock groups, notably English bands Led Zeppelin, The Who and the Rolling Stones.
Andaz West Hollywood is more than a hip boutique hotel. It’s a lifestyle. With a mix of Hollywood glamour and warm personal style, The 239-room hotel boasts spectacular panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills on one side, and the Sunset Strip and downtown Los Angeles on the other; 3,600-square-foot rooftop Sundeck and heated pool; and over 9,000 square feet of flexible event space including Panorama, a rooftop ballroom with panoramic views of L.A. Visitors can experience the culture of West Hollywood, from art installations to music programming highlighting local artists; and RH Restaurant & Bar where the menu is centered around the freshest, seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers. Guests can expect all of the complimentary amenities usually found at Andaz hotels like wireless internet access, mini bar snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, local phone calls, coffee served in the Lounge in the mornings and red and white wine in the evenings. Once a landmark West Hollywood hotel, famous for its rock ‘n roll parties hosted by celebrities like The Rolling Stones, The Who and Led Zeppelin, Andaz West Hollywood is a modern urban oasis with a touch of vintage glamour. The décor enhances the natural surroundings of Hollywood, turning the old “Riot House” into a Los Angeles retreat ideal for the independent thinker who wants to personalize their travel experiences.
